Description

This clip starts with some comments from lawyer and music journalist Jack Batten, and then quickly changes to then-local news reporter Jack Webster, who traveled from Vancouver to Seattle during the Fall of 1968 to interview Jimi Hendrix' Grandmother Nora, who speaks of her recollections seeing Jimi play the Vancouver Pacific Coliseum on September 7th, 1968. "And the way he was pickin' that guitar... ...I don't see how he could stand all that noise" and "I knew he was musical, but I didn't know he had THAT much music in him!" are my favorite quotes. What a lovely woman, who's grandson turned out to be one of the most remarkable musical forces of the 20th century. Jimi's grandmother passed away at the age of 100 in 1984...
